MIL-C-5410 B Type II Aluminium Surface Cleaning Compound and brightener (1 Gallon)

MIL-C-5410 B Type II is a non-flame sustaining, phosphoric acid based cleaner and brightener for use on aluminium surfaces.

MIL-C-5410 B Type II is in accordance to U.S. Military Specification, clear liquid used full strength or diluted with mineral spirits and water, as required, for the maintenance of transport aircraft.

Usage

Preparation of airplane: Whenever practicable, cleaner and brightener application compound application should be made outdoors in a shaded area or well-ventilated room.

Application

MIL-C-5410 B Type II is a clear liquid used full strength or diluted with mineral spirits and water, as required, for the maintenance of transport aircraft.

For heavily oxidized surfaces: Dilute the product with an equal volume of mineral spirits before using.

For lightly oxidized surfaces: Dilute the product with water as required.

MIL-C-5410 B Type II should be applied with a soft brush, rag, sponge or by spray. When applicable the application should begin on the bottom surfaces. It should be applied with a circular motion, brushing enough to loosen the surface film. The compound should be allowed to remain on the surface a maximum of 15 minutes then rinse with a stream of water.
